OneLife Leadership Centre plan

Transforming Africa ONE Student at a time!

OneLife Africa seeks to achieve three objectives with the students enrolled in our program; produce highly educated, lovingly mentored and self-reliant young adults. We achieve this by offering scholarships to academically talented but needy students from the slums and poor rural communities to attend top high schools in Kenya, we mentor these students through life decisions and offer life skills training during our camps and gap year program for high school graduates.

Since 2011 we have been enrolling a minimum of 30 students into our program every year, as at December 2014 we have 130 students enrolled in our program. Our first class has just graduated in 2014 and going forward we will be having at least 30 students graduate each year. In Kenya when high school students graduate they have one year wait before they can join institutions of higher learning.

OneLife Leadership program is a gap year residential program based in Nyakach, Kisumu-Kenya is specifically tailored for Kenya high school graduates who seek to grow in their faith, develop professional and practical skills necessary to thrive. With high unemployment among the Kenya youth and lack of professional support, most young people get overwhelmed during this transition. OneLife Africa program provides them with an opportunity to think deeply about God’s purpose for their life and equips them to express a clear vision of their Life and ministry.

The gap year residential discipleship curriculum is based on a combination of formal classroom instruction, projects, supervised ministry outreach and adventure activities that enable spiritual formation, life skills development and community service. The holistic curriculum builds a well-rounded student who is Biblically equipped, lovingly mentored and practically applies what they learn in ministry outreach. OneLife Africa is raising students to be leaders who serve with integrity and impact their communities with the love of Christ.

We plan to break ground for our student centre in 2015. Once complete this centre will primarily be used for our gap year. We are seeking partners to come alongside us to provide building expertise and financial support to realize this goal.
